I just wanted to clarify that I wasn't talking about finding a middle ground as a way to FORGIVE your parents. I am SO not there in my own therapy, and don't even know if I ever WANT to be there (at this point). I'm not ready to think about that.
I was thinking of using is as a way to allow yourself to talk. Sort of a way to answer them back in your head "yes, I KNOW you tried your best...but you did a crappy job, and you hurt me, and I'm telling". That sort of thing.
