I don't upload pictures that way.
What I generally do is find a pic that will save as a jpeg to my computer, then upload that into a PC photo album. From the album, you can copy the url and then paste it into the edit signature part.
I find a lot of my pics off of Google Images and sometimes on Photobucket.
