Depression is a tricky beast to handle in a healthy way. The trick is, and very hard to do, hence I still struggle with it, to allow yourself recovery without allowing it to become festering. What I mean by that is when you need to rest you need to allow yourself to do it without guilt or shame. That's the rub though. If you allow yourself to use it as a negative coping skill it is bad. We, as people who struggle with emotional limitations don't often allow ourselves to recover because while we are resting, we are waging an internal war over ?Not being more productive, not doing more with our lives, not working hard enough." but sometimes we just CAN'T. When you can't you can't... Now, getting your rest in when you can is hard too. You need to find time in your life when you can and allow yourself to decompress and do so WITHOUT feeling bad about it. Life can wait for you. I need more rest through my day/week then a lot of others but I know my limitations and operate in them. I don't allow myself to wallow or take advantage of others "picking up the slack" but I do need more down time then others. I have found that I make up for it when I get back to work and I am better for it. I hope this makes sense, because I am a bit manic lately and I can run on at times.

I hope you allow yourself to rest and then get back in there with both fists flying.
