Sometimes with toxic relationships there are co-dependancy issues at work. It's helpful to look at what role did you play and what were you getting from the relationship. Was it the drama or the validation of feeling you could help this person. What was the attraction to this person and how can you avoid people like this in the future. It's normal to feel hurt from losing toxic relationships or any relationship. The toxic ones have a powerful hold because they trigger our soft spots and unresolved issues in our personalities.
