Perhaps you would benefit from putting more thought into Turquoisesea's question? You said, "I have no idea why I took all this lying down. It's just part of my nature, I guess. I've been letting people walk all over me my entire life, especially, I think, my parents."

How did it get to be part of your nature? Why do you allow people to walk all over you? Just what do you gain from doing this? What purpose is served?

Also, I would like to congratulate you. You have been much kinder to yourself. The progress may be slow, but the progress is there to see.
