I would never trust stats about guns from an NRA website. Thats like going to a porn site to look up stats about porn addiction.

I stated that it was Center for Disease Control was the main source which then had links to other sources.

He did mention it in a safe but I can't broadcast the tone on here lol It wasn't a genuine compromise. It sounded like a backhanded "fine then I'll just do this!" one of those kind of comments. I'm trying to get him to calm down and just talk about it.

Right now it really can't be done because we don't have anything but a crawlspace and I wouldn't want them in a place where others can easily get to either (the last people that lived here broke the window to it and our landlord still hasn't replaced it lol)

This house that we are looking at getting in Arkansas has a shed in the backyard which is what I have tried to say to him. Something outside with a lock is perfectly fine with me.

I finally did get the REAL reason why he wants the guns. I told him I just didn't feel like 'safety' was the real reason and that that was his excuse to get them here. He said that he was given them by his grandfather in his will when he died and he never knew his grandfather. So the main reason is sentimental value. I said well if you would have told me that in the first place I would have had a different reaction because if they are for other reason than safety then they will always be unloaded, locked etc....

So now that I know the real reason why he wants them I feel more ready to talk about having them. I still would like to wait until we have a shed or something outside with a lock that they can be kept in.

He actually listened when he told me the real reason and would actually listen to my reasoning. I think he was maybe ashamed of keeping them for sentimental reasons? Like he felt that keeping them to think of his grandpa wasn't a 'manly' reason for guns? Because he was REALLY hesitant about telling me the real reason. Who knows.... I'm going to try and get an actually convo about it with him later today. Maybe after the basketball game we will win and he will be in a good mood lol But if we lose I have to wait even longer....
