I'm considering transferring to a psychoanalytic institute for therapy, as opposed to my current therapist with whom I have not connected deeply over the past eight months and who's not helped me move along with complicated grief either.

Does anyone here know if trauma work is done at a psychoanalytic institute? what questions I can ask when I call? They do require a fifty-dollar deposit along with an application.

It is so exhausting to once again hope for resolution of pain and then maybe I'll be let down again.

Just thinking of my options: whether to do emdr, or psychoanalytic institute. Money is a big factor as well.

Trying to sort through my thoughts and options; any feedback would be greatly appreciated! As my own mind is not thinking as clearly, as I am in the thick of it, I can use outside perspective.

Thank you all so much!

Some background: I've been in psychodynamic treatment before and it really helped me with trauma. Stopped seeing that one a few years ago, due to trust issues that she herself created and messed up and eventually owned up to, at which point the trust was not re-buildable.

That one was a very warm and caring supportive therapist.

The one I'm seeing for eight months now is not as warm and nurturing, wouldn't offer that I can call her if I need her; I had to ask if I can call her. I think I'm getting off tangent here so I'll stop right here.
