You were with someone who treated you with great disrespect, apparently not acting as thought wanting to be with you.
After deciding that you wouldn't tolerate that kind of disrespect you broke it off. Then the person became upset BECAUSE you broke it off?
Is that correct?

If I understood you correctly, it's my best guess that maybe that person was the controlling sort...needing to degrade/disrespect in order to feel superior.
Often times, expressed anger for not having control is a good indication that this kind of person just may be a control freak.

Good for you for not tolerating disrepect. From the sounds of it, you're better off without this person, and you knew it.
