Hi Quarterlifecrisis

I can understand your fear of doctors and meds and seeing this psychiatrist that they have set up an appointment with because of this terrifying ordeal you have just been through.

I think we can all assure you that seeing a psychiatrist or a psychologist, when one is in the throws of depression, can only be beneficial to you.

You are in need of professional help and because of your financial situation, you cannot afford to go privately for therapy so I would encourage you to make use of the opportunity they have given you, to actually start recieving some relief from your symptoms.

The hospital you were sent to, was obviously unnecessary and you will proably find that the police gave them incorrect information and you must remember that most of the patients who are taken to places like that, under duress, try to convince staff they are fine.

I am not condoning what they did to you and I can understand that it was horrific but I urge you to keep your first appointment, go there, see how you feel and you can decide from there, whether you want to continue seeing a therapist there or not.
