You really should have this checked out. It just might be a canker type sore but you want to rule our oral cancer - I don't think it is. My 8 yr old daughter gets a small raised area on her tongue, that changes and comes and goes. Spicey and sour food aggravates it. Her pediatrician said it's called 'geographical tongue' - I had never heard of that before lol? You learn something new everyday, is so true!! Anyway it isn't painful, just itchy and slightly irritating. Try the antiseptic mouth washes or warm salt and water. I forgot to ask - are there any medications that could be causing this? I hope it goes away soon. Do have it checked out.
