hey all,
I did a search today as picking my skin (face in particular) is becoming more and more of a problem for me, i never realised it was a such a widespread problem or that it was even related to OCD and anxiety until i stumbled upon this site...
www . skinpick . com
It gives so much info on the various different forms of picking problems, there are also forums to discuss issues and get support for stopping. They also advertise a book which sounds good called skin pick; compulsive skin picking disorders by David Florendale (which i found on amazon for slightly less)
On the subject of finding a 'cure' i have noticed that when i had acryllic nails done for a wedding that it is a lot harder to pick at face, arms, legs or scabs etc as the edges of the acryllics are too blunt to make any serious damage! If its nails and cutitcle picking thats the problem then i'm not sure this will help but it may be woth a try still as acryllics are really tough so chewing them off will take a lot more effort than just chewing your nails and it may help you become aware of what your doing as to help break the habit (and you get to pick the glue instead lol!) Cuticles... not so sure but it would depend how badly picked and raw they are already...
