I have the same feelings in real life that leads to cyber hugs, but I do not hug people real life unless I must except for my children and bf etc. In real life I tend to offer that sympathy or warm feeling verbally. Online you have the handicap of people not being able to see you or hear the inflection in your voice, so other means are used like smiley faces and hugs to convey the emotions.
