Rayna - good going!
I was reading about a popular announcer (you may not know him - David Feherty, works in the golf world). He lost 50 pounds after he quit drinking (bottle of whiskey a day).
I am not much of a drinker but do have a friend who has been an alcoholic. She's about 20-30 lbs overweight due to drinking a bottle of wine a day. She's cut back a lot.
Personally, my support for weight loss comes from loving yourself. You want to look good, you want to love yourself - and you will. You have a desire to make this happen. I had a desire as well - this year, I have lost 35 pounds (6' man down from 235 to 200) due to good eating habits and also started a great vitamin program. The vitamins and my focus on feeling better has really been the key. And, the vitamins keep me from snacking or wanting to eat too much.
I'll suggest you talk to a nutritionist or your doctor and look into vitamins as a way to crank up your metabolism.
Have some great luck with it - and in the end, you will be pleased. It's still you but it's a you that "you" created.
