Yo STF!!
Don't worry, you're not an alien...I am agoraphobic, also. I have floated in and out for literal years. I remember when my BIG assignment for the day was to go downstairs (I lived on the 2nd floor) sit on the porch (3 steps) outside (it was summer, my favorite season) and smoke 1 cigarette (nasty habit) There was rarely any traffic on this street; homey atmosphere; beautiful weather; 1 cigarette (all of 15 minutes MAX) and run back into my apartment as fast as I could. In social events, 2 beers...I was o.k...as long as I could still see my guy! (and he was the head musician!)
I've floated in & out over the years; I'm in one now. I only time I'll leave my building is if someone is picking me up & dropping me off at the very front door & shoot up the stairs (2nd floor again) to my apt., and it's summer once again & we even have a cement patio so if I were to sit down, NO ONE could see me! Cannot do it!
If you like to research, there are hundreds of sources on agoraphobia; just look under anxieties/phobia's.....AND this year, they came out w/ a web site just for 100% agoraphobics! If you're going to be "froze" to your apt., and/or computer........make good use of your time!
