My doctor has just diagnosed me with hypothyroidism. Wow....no wonder I keep having trouble keeping weight off. I've been placed on a new medicine called levothyroxine, which should speed up my thyroid. I've felt so icky for so long...always sick or hurting in some form or another....another ailment to add upon the growing list of physical and mental complaints. I thought the worst of my conditions was steadily degrading vision and osteo-arthritis--now this too? Did I mention that I'm only 19? Just what kind of health will I be in when I turn 50?

I'm really stunned right now. Just...wow. Wow.
