He called (unsolicited) to check up on me. I am in a rather bad place, but plugging along - like I have any other choice.

I've been with this guy for 8 years, and he has never called just out of the blue. I so appreciate his concern. I actually didn't even know he had my phone number.

It's a good (surprising, outstanding, warm) feeling to know that someone is thinking about me, even though this is one of those times when it is all up to me to abide the circumstances and emerge.

Someone (and I'm sorry I can't remember who) wrote on these boards once, that a burden shared is a burden halved. So true so true.

I'm grateful for his attention and grateful that I have a place to share this good bit of news.
