I agree with Sky wholeheartedly.

Over the years, I've recognized that I can only handle one thing at a time. A key example of this: On Sunday, I slipped on the ice and fell upon my head. The pain was intense! The intracraneal hemorrhage caused almost every possible side effect on that list. Not fun Six days later, I went back to work as the doctor okayed it. When transferring a patient from wheelchair to recliner, I slipped discs in my back. Suddenly, that pain became #1! All I could notice from there was overwhelming sharp pain in my back and down my legs.

The point is, we all have limits of what we can take. Exceeding those limits can and do affect recovery time and ability.
