I recently had my thyroid removed. They found that I had Hashimotos thyroiditis (never diagnosed) along with a small amount of cancer. I will have levels taken at the end of Sept. to determine if I will need radioactive iodine for the cancer. Currently I take 137 mcg of Levoxyl and hope the energy kicks in soon. To be perfectly honest, I am happy that I have had it all removed. It seems that people that still have their "sick" thyroids in place, continue to have problems regulating the medication that they need to help the thyroid function better.

I always thought of the thyroid as the "appendix of the neck"....wow, was I wrong!!!! I hope you feel better soon. Take care.
