First of all God bless you for your devotion - amazing what we endure for our children. My girls were both premature 7 weeks early so they were slackers with breast feeding, but sometimes they got it. Both my girls had to stay in the hospital with out me, so I would pump and bring it to the hospital. With my 1st daughter, would you believe I pumped for 1 yr - for the same reason you did. My girls all very healthy and rarely had ear infections. Luckily for me I had an electric pump. I feel bad you had to use the hand pump. I think I remember reading that sometimes you can get a plugged(hardened milk duct) after breast feeding. Are there any breast feeding help lines -they might be able to tell you. Please do have it checked out by a doctor. It's nice to talk to you because I never had anyone to talk about breast feeding before except doctors.
