That is so cute Shangrala, what your daughter said. ."Momma...You are the most prettiest oldest lady I know". Made me smile...
I can't say I can think of many "sweet" stories about my son... He was "all boy" and a handful at that. Always getting into something. He kept me on my toes, big time...
Pulled a "toad" out of his mouth when he was around 1. We lived in the "country" back then and all kinds of critters would visit us. Once he picked up a spider, when he was around 1 or two and the spider bit him. OO he cried and I put the spider in a jar and took him immediately to his doctor. Wipes brow, as the spider was not poisonous. Actually he is terrified of spiders to this day and he is 29.
Then when he was 5, he tried to trap a bee in a flower and the bee did not want to be trapped so it stung AJ on the finger.. Nasty sting and boy did he cry. Thank goodness the neighbor heard AJ crying as he worked for the county and had these swab things to use for bee stings. Relieved the pain immediately..
Then when he was 6 he wanted to play in the snow. I told him "do not go the creek" as to stay away from the water. A thin layer of ice covered the creek and could tempt anyone to try to walk over it, especially AJ. He promised he'd stay away from the creek... Being the "watchful" mother that I was, always keeping an "eye" on him, making sure he was ok.....Although even a "watchful" mother can't be watching every second... Next thing I saw as I peeked through the kitchen window was AJ standing by the creek..ANd then he disappeared......I could not see him....... I ran to the creek, and met AJ half way back as he was crying and shaking.......He kept saying a giant beaver was in the creek and scared him and he fell in and he couldn't get out and he was scared...(the creek was waist high to AJ, still dangerous especially because of the "heavy winter clothes".). Anyway, we rush in the house and take his wet clothes off.. Soaked him in a warm tub till he was feeling better.......He kept to his story that a giant beaver jumped at him and scared him and he fell in.......eventually the truth came out... He said he was trying to cross the creek on a small log and he fell in...and there really was a beaver, but not a "giant" beaver..he said the beaver did not scare him. He said he slipped on the log and that is why he fell in........
Lordy, the stitches from falling on the window sill when he and he friend was wrestling. to a broken arm when he playing on a trampoline ,,, to when he was running and fell on a stick and the stick went all the way through his hand.... We were always at the doctors for one thing or another... Banged head when he tried to catch a baseball and ran head on into a mailbox and knocked him flat on his back. No wonder I was always worried when he went outdoors to play... Never a dull moment when AJ was little... And never a dull moment with AJ as an adult.......
He was tons of fun... and tons of worry......
