heh, where your son is at is kind of like where me and my brother are all, except we are a bit closer to rock bottom. The job market is horrible where I live so it's been months since I graduated and still nothing. My brother who had dropped out and got his GED recently went back to high school (you can go until you are 21) because he thinks having his diploma will help him more. In order to get a sense of purpose back in my life I'm applying for financial aide so I can go to college. (more a music degree! woo!  ) who knows, maybe by the end of those 2 years I'll be good enough at piano to be in a band or something because there are always gigs (and my step-dad has taught me quite a bit about the music industry since he has been in it for over 30 years).
It's discouraging and frustrating when I read topics like this and people assume the kid is spoiled/lazy/gets money.
