Whenever I feel myself getting uppy or mind racing I just take a bunch of seroquels or sleeping meds till it knocks me out. It works every time. I was only manic once, that was when I was diagnosed. After that everytime I felt myself possibly getting close I'd lots of inhibitor pills, feel extremely groggy the next day and crisis averted.
I don't see what is bad about taking lots of inhibitor pills when your mind is going too fast.
It is definitly a very good idea that everyone talk with thier pdoc about what to do when they are becoming manic. A plan should be ready. In many instances, once people realize they are possibly becoming manic waiting until they get an appointment with the pdoc can be too late. The person can become manic by than and believe they are fine and don't need meds.
