My T hypnotizes me. It helps a short while, especially with anxiety and feeling safe. There are things hypnotist can do to help you "train" yourself to be more receptive to trance, esp. deep trance. It can take time though. Still some people (not diagnosis, but people) can't easily be hypnotized, I think. You'd just have to try it. I also do a lot of self hypnosis (meditations, guided muscle relaxation etc.)
They relieve symptoms for me for a while. Again, it has taken me a lot of practice to relax in it (guided mediation). I use Kaiser permanente and UCLA mediation podcasts, and a podcast recorded for me by my T. This is my experience, hope it helps give some ideas. (I have major depressive disorder, anxiety, and prob PTSD-so similar issues.)
Thanks for this!
