Let's say that you have a tool that you habitually cut with.

If you are attempting to control cutting, do you throw it away or keep it?

The reason to throw it away is to remove temptation.

The reason to keep it is that if you cut with an unfamiliar tool, you are more likely to do serious damage. In fact, the times you have hurt yourself most (and inadvertently) is by impulsively cutting with something unfamiliar when your accustomed tool is not at hand.

So, what should one do? Throw it away, or keep it (just in case).

Thanks for any opinions.
