When you are young and have friends, often they will imitate you, or other parts of your peer group. Its really how teens/young adults figure out what they are, what they like, etc. I know that for me, when I would be around a certain person a lot, we would both tend to pick up each others habits and mannerisms. I would bet she doesn't even realize she's "copying" you. And I would also venture to guess that you probably copy some of her mannerisms without realizing either. It may be annoying, but truthfully, its a hard thing to escape. Even now I find that my husband and I have a lot of the same "sayings" and respond to a lot of things in similar ways. Its just a result of spending a lot of time with someone. I would definitely agree that she just likes you and admires characteristics in you. Plus, whether you realize it or not, you are unique. You don't have to try to do it, you just are. Take learning Japanese as something you can do together. What good is it going to be for you to know Japanese and not have anyone to speak it with? Maybe it could be something fun you do together?
