Tuffy is just about back to her old self now, after a few weeks on hypertension meds. There's nothing she can't do--including see. Her meow is strong, she climbs on furniture, she wakes us up at her breakfast time. Her purr had sounded strange, but cats have a special set of vocal cords for purring, and we think one of the cords was partially paralyzed after her latest stroke. She has that function back now. She resists her meds, but really who doesn't? Yet she does cooperate; I think she knows it's helping her. We dilute her tablets in 1/4 teaspoon of water, in a syringe, and squirt it down the back of her throat.
She's a little hard of hearing, but we think it comes with age. We're waiting for clearance from the vet before we let her outside. Dull hearing could be a problem for her--but yesterday, she did so want to go out.
We're just glad to have her. I'm glad too that hubby didn't follow my advice and have her put down.
