I can relate.... my step-father is Italian from biological fathers side and yet he has never meet his father, nor did his father ever get to see him before he was ran back to Italy by the mothers family (long story) - and I have spent many hours on the Internet trying to locate this missing father and any other family members that may have come from his father marrying... but with no luck.

My step-father is 75 years old with poor health and it saddens me that he will most probably die never having seen his father, let alone not knowing if he ever had any siblings as he is an only child.
