This may sound like a wacked response . . .

but from my own experience, it's easiest to respect someone when:
#1: They stop putting up with your behavior;
#2: They threaten to leave if you don't shape up your treatment towards them. When you feel as if you're at risk of losing someone who you don't want to lose, you'll see how quickly you'll get your act together.

Now, I know this isn't helping you. It's not like you're going to tell hubby to stop putting up with your disrespectful treatment of him. But hmm...

Maybe you can think about WHY you've lost respect for him, and take it from there. Maybe you have old resentments or anger that has been lingering. Or maybe you can re-evaluate the way HE treats YOU, and if he treats you very well and respects you, you can kinda get yourself to realize that he deserves better. And that it's not fair.

I dunno. I'm gonna watch this thread. I wish I had better input.
