A crate for the dog is a good idea.

Talking with your room mate is a very good idea also. You should impress upon her that it is HER responsibility to take care of her dog. Let her know exactly what the dog is doing that bothers you - it should be HER job to keep it out of your space, out from under your feet and what ever else you need.

Try not to take your frustration out on the poor dog. It's not the dogs fault it has a thoughtless, selfish owner who won't take proper care of it and not take the time to train the dog.

I certainly do not understand either why any financial assistance you need would have to take into account your room mate's financial resources!
We have discussed it and usually she is capable of takeing care of the dog the problem is she has ptsd and has been having some really bad episodes latly which just makes the dog unable to deal with her is what I think part of the problem is. I also don't think my room mate realized just how big this dog was going to get. Before Trixie she had a basset hound and while he could be a pain in the butt he was easy to deal with.

I think part of the problem for us all is being cooped up in the house critters included. All this snow keeps us from letting the dog out to get rid of her energy and when my SAD is bad everything gets on my nerves I think I just got over loaded and lost it but I think I should be able to loose it once in a while. Again thanks all for listening to my rant last night.
