I got accepted to one of the programs I applied for at College for this upcoming fall! I am still waiting to hear if I got into my first choice (which is Social Service Worker), but today I found out I got into the program of my second choice, which is Human Services Foundation! Even though SSW was my first choice, I'd be happy with this program because it's very similar and if I don't get into the SSW program this year (it's a very competitive program), then when ever I decide to re apply for it, they give extra consideration of acceptance for those with the HSF program and then I would only have to do the fast track program for the SSW because I'd have taken a lot of the required courses already with the HSF, so I'd be done in a year instead of two years! So, either way, I'm just happy I got into at least one of the programs I applied to!! I was worried I wouldn't get into any of them because I only sent in my high school transcripts and that was back in 1999! I chose not to send in my university transcripts because I had to drop out after my 3rd year and due to my agoraphobia and on going panic attacks at the time, I missed a lot of class and was too embarrassed at the time to tell my professors why, so I ended up with several incompletes for my courses on my transcripts. So I was worried when I recently applied to go back to school that I wouldn't get in because my transcripts were from over 10 years ago and I did not have any related work or volunteer experience to the programs I applied for, so I thought if anything, I'd probably be on the wait list for awhile, but low and behold, I got in!! Even if it's not my first choice, I'm still just excited that I got in and can now look forward to accomplishing my goals! I guess sometimes it takes a few bad years in order to see the best ones
