I don't know about meds affecting cholesterol/triglycerides, but margarine & coffee will. Cut back on them if you use either & you'll probably see some results. Eating more fish, too - maybe substituting one of your red-meat days for some tuna or salmon steaks, eating more oats, adding some Omega-3 oil to your diet, that kind of thing.

I've been working on the diet thing myself - I don't want to end up on a statin drug. Usually my cholesterol levels are too low, but when I start using margarine & drinking too much coffee, they spike back up, so I've been trying the nut butters, avocados, olives - looking for the good fats, in other words.
