I am stressing quite a bit with the idea of going to a new Dr. I have already met him when I was in the ER & they called him to admit me to the hospital one of the times when I passed out from the dehydration I have been haunted by all summer. He knows a little about me, but not much of what I have been through health wise this year. Let alone the weight loss & the fact that I am very underweight. It just seems to me that since I am having problems that land me in need of local medical care, that having a GP that is over an hour away isn't practical now.

The GP I have been seeing has been there for all the horrible things I have gone through this year.....& I know he probably saved my life earlier this year when he had me in the hospital for several months. I know he is thorough & really has concern for my care only lately when I have been in need of advice, I haven't received any call back & to top it off, the appointment I was to have got cancelled because he was going to be out of town. He even said he wouldn't have had me do the followup with him after being discharged from the hospital if he had known it was for that.....they wouldn't have discharged me if I wasn't ok.

Anyway, my gut feeling is that is will just be easier to have a local Dr rather than messing around with one that is far away at this time. Of course, I do have 2 Dr's that are an hour away too......my pain specialist & my pdoc.....the pain specialist is one that I will probably keep forever hopefully......making it hard to move too far away.....it would be hard to justify flying in once a month to see his...lol.....that would really raise the cost of medical care.

Going to a new Dr with the problems I seem to have causes some stress in how he may want to handle things.....I have been used to just letting things slide in several of the areas.... I have a blood test that was taken in the ER on Thurs....many low areas that weren't delt with by the sodium chloride IV. That helped for a few days only the room has started going around in circles again & the muscles are strarting to cramp again. To top it off, I had stopped my periods when my weight loss was so low.......until about 4 weeks ago...wondering if that was an oops or if it's back. Many questions to dump on a new DR....hate to do that.

Will see what happens,
Debbie
