I did have to stop watching so much of the news coverage, though I'm still watching. The repeated scenes of the worst situations, days after they were first aired gave the impression that nothing was being done for those poor people. And perhaps that is true....sitting along a hot paved highway for days without water, on a bridge, trapped in attics or on rooftops, not to mention the Super Dome. But Dottie is right that this catastrophe is unprecedented in its scope, and no one has probably digested it to that extent. It will affect all of us, not just in the price of gasoline, but in the prices of everything, and permanently, not temporarily.
