Hello, I went to the State police to press charges and file a restraining order against my stepfather 20 years after he abused me. My stepfather always beat me and threatened to kill me if I told anyone, so I told them that and they sent me to the local police. I cried my eyes out to them and they knew the statue of limitations had run out but I guess I looked so pitiful that they decided to arrest him anyway. They sent me to my state court where I had a restraining order within an hour. I don't know what happened to him legally, but I do know that I ruined his name in his small town and I feel that slight justice had been served. Good Luck and God Bless!
