Threads about leaving were allowed at one time in our past, but too many members who posted such threads then came back, causing general anxiety and confusion in the community. So such threads are now not allowed except in special circumstances.

You can tell people you're taking a break, though.

And of course, you're welcomed to communicate you're intention to leave privately to your friends here via PM.
