Anyway, I've also experienced murderous and lurid dreams. Every dream I can actually remember were the event of some tragedy, murder, or brutal mutilation. Most of them involving demonic or rabid dogs, which is odd, because I'm not, nor have I ever been, afraid of dogs. Carnivals and bathrooms are a recurring setting for some reason... I'll share some dreams if it helps any, of what I can remember anyway.

And, if it's any consolation, the online dream analyses claim murder is not always a negative occurrence in dreams. Often, it can mean the ending of a relationship or the dreamer's wish to change an aspect of themselves.
