Sometimes, it can help to slowly wean yourself.
Count how many you smoke on the first day.
Give yourself one less on the next day.
Cut back one day at a time (or give yourself longer for each step down).
Eventually, you'll be down to none.
I have to admit that I do Not speak from experience - I'm still wasting $6 a day too. I've tried this method and it's the closest I've gotten to quitting. I've promised the kids multiple times that I would quit. Too many excuses (stress) to hold myself to that promise.
