So my bf just got a letter from Illinois saying he needs to renew his plates by April 30th. Only problem is we're moving to Arkansas May 15th. Plate renewals here are 100 bucks and he would have to register his car in Arkansas right when we move because his insurance wont insure him out of state. How does he get around this? I don't think a cop will pull him over and give him a ticket for having an expired plate for 2 weeks until we can get down there to get Arkansas plates. But he is afraid he will get a ticket. But he also doesn't wanna pay 100 bucks for plates for 2 weeks. Is there any way to get around this?
