Hi, Beholden,

I am also pre-diabetic; have been for years. while I do have a bit of a weight problem, my real issue is heart disease because I have high triglycerides. unfortunately, i am not able to tolerate statins to lower them. (statins poisoned my muscles.) so, i walk to work and home again everyday; about 3 miles a day, weather permitting. i've tried cutting down on bread and cake and rice and pasta and potatoes but it's really hard. i also suffer from IBS and am not able to tolerate very high fiber foods like oatmeal. one MD told me to eat only simply-prepared, lean meats and all the leafy green veggies I wanted. and nothing else. maybe we can work on our eating habits together? lemme know. by the way, i'm watching Project Runway as i write this!

Best,
UG
