Experienced gyno's can usually work around the bleeding. It may not be fun or pretty, but is it ever?? lol! Personally, I would advise you to keep your appointment with the gyno. They need to see the problem for themselves, rather than go by a vague description of the problem. If the gyno cannot work around the bleeding, they will advise you on what to do.
