I never like to say anything negative about a med that I had experience with, and how for some, may be helpful, but Depakote for me, was a "no go" situation, after that it took 2 rounds with different meds. (I'm Bipolar-II) and Lamictal has been the best for me, don't even need any adjunct meds. (anti-depressants) as needed before.
Just my personal opinion. My main thing is, "do not give up" there are other meds out there to "choose" from along with working with your pdoc on what's better suited for you.
