Have this problem with my family. A couple of my sisters I hold dear and although they live far away and we do not get to talk much, we are in our in each others hearts. I did pose the question you did to my old therapist, she stated the answer that you got above. We just cannot know if they are not forthcoming. That leaves us the job of healing and finding our way to our own kind of closure. being on this site will help. Healing through this is a process not a destination.
