Xavier, welcome to the forums. I'm glad you found us here. I agree with the first two posts. You should be able to get some counselling services through your college. And if not, the only other thing I would know to do it try your hardest to get a part time job or something and get out of your parents house. I mean if they are having such a negative impact on you then you need to find a way to get away from that. I know you said that you live in an economically depressed area, but there must be SOMETHING you can do. I know how it is being depressed though. Sometimes you don't really want to do anything at all...let alone work. But you have to do something to help yourself at this point. I'm so sorry that your parents have treated you this way. I was raised by a very strict Christian father, and his answer to everything is to pray and it will get better. Then one day I realized that prayer alone wasn't helping me. I had to get some help from a professional. My parents still look down on me for that, but I am getting better. I can relate to your situation in so many different ways.
