Journal of ECT. You can browse summaries of 25 years of articles.
I know little of ECT; I've never had it. My
layman's impression of ECT is that even the experts and practitioners are still uncertain of the treatment's mechanism(s) of action. In other words, they know it works with a certain percentage of persons (I don't know how large a percentage), but they don't know why.
Search PsychCentral. I'm sure I've seen posts praising the procedure and its effects.
