I don't know much about being an alcoholic/addictions but I've like many people struggled with SI . What I find helps when you think about alcohol when your down go for a walk instead. It gets your mind off things and the air clears your head

. And if the weathers bad try doing something small like a crossword or watch some mindless tv show (strange as it sounds it helps lol)
