One of the girls I work with was diagnosed that way (schizotypal, but maybe schizoid would fit also). She used to claim that she didn't belong in this world, but was sent here by a wizard in another world who got mad at her. If something upset her she wanted to go back to her other world (and I think she saw suicide as the way to get there). She didn't feel that she could fit in socially at all, due to being too different. She has improved so much! Now she tells me that when she came here, she used to be crazy. Her social skills are coming along, and she has a sense of belonging. She doesn't have the melt-downs that used to be so frequent. I'm really proud of her.
