Sorry you're having a hard time. A counselor can't put you on meds so don't worry about that. I think your dad is worried/scared and hoping it wll go away. When I was in grade school I used to have panic attacks because I was very shy. I had no idea what was happening and never told anyone. Luckily they went away as I got older but I wish I asked for help.

One suggestion I can give you, is too accept the feeling when it comes. Naturally when we're panicked our minds race and so do our bodies. Some people even worry they might die, but don't worry it won't happen. Always remember no matter what the panic attack will end and the less you worry about it, the faster it will go away. When the panic comes we try to stop it and feel over whelmed. If you can learn to accept the panic attack - eventually it will go away. The panic relies on your fear - so try to be calm and matter of fact when it comes. Take some slow deep breaths usig your stomach muscles. You can practice these breathing exercises and visualze gettting through the panic attack. You can beat this.
