I used to suffer from SP like nobody's business at one point. FORTUNATELY, I found some decent ways to overcome it. I know people mention to not sleep on your back, but often times Id fall asleep on my side and wake up on my back. Haha. Its hard to control your position after you fall asleep.
One thing I would find that helped me out tremendously was to relax immediatly when I realized I was paralyzed and logic with myself that it will pass. It is sooo hard to remain calm sometimes with the things you see and hear around you. Especially when they can be so frightening. But you must and be assured that they will not hurt you and this whole thing really will only last for a matter of seconds.
When you manage to calm down, put all your energy into moving your pinky finger. If you can do this, shortly after you will usually be snapped back into movement mode and thus breaking the SP. It is kinda hard at first and may feel a bit hopeless when you can't get your finger to move, but keep at it and keep focused, eventually you will and once you do it practically destroys the paralysis. Try your best to keep control and stay focused and it should help you out!
Either way, Im sorry you're experiencing it. It is so stressful, I know. ><;;
