I know with my PTSD I struggle to remeber things from my past, years of my life that just last week I could recall in vivid detail suddenly will get surronded by a fog and I can't recall them or I have problems even recalling dates, names, numbers, etc.

As for everyday forgetfullness, Iv'e noticed the more "alert" I am at the moment, the more forgetful I am, I think it goes to with PTSD we become so focused on the potential dangers around us and protecting ourselves little things fall to the side or our mind becomes so preoccupied it becomes hard to remember what we are doing or where going to do.
