Don't focus on losing weight. Focus on eating plenty of food. But reasonably healthy food. You don't need to eat salad all day, either, just eat sensibly. Go to the gym 3 times a week. Tell the gym instructor that you want to go on a weight loss excercise program.
Don't check your weight.
Focus on improving your physique instead.
It's a much more accurate indicator of where you are at, anyhow. The scales are no longer accurate for measuring fat.
